Disposing of Bulky Debris and Tree Trimmings

September 13, 2007

Any resident with large items that need disposal should call IESI at 512-282-3508. They will take bulk items on any normal service day. They do take washers, dryers, mattress, bundled brush etc. However, any appliance that normally contains Freon must be purged and a certificate must be attached to the unit to indicate that it has been purged. Otherwise the unit will be left behind. Also, IESI does not take construction debris.

Curbside Brush/Limb Chipping

Please call the Streets Division at (512) 990-4388 to request chipping. Chipping includes limbs of any length and up to 9 inches in diameter. Please stack them with the cut end toward the street. Limbs should be stacked as close as possible to the street without being in the street or over a sidewalk. Streets employees are not authorized to go onto private property to collect limbs. Small amounts of limbs can be placed in your garbage or tied together in small bundles on top of your trash cans for pickup by the trash collection contractor.

Please remember the city does not pick up landscaping materials, pickets or any items with nails. The chipping service does not accept leaves.
