Park Improvements - Phase I

August 10, 2008

Have you been to the park lately? If so, you have probably noticed some new construction going on. The HOA has heard from many of our residents that it would be nice to have a place to gather to have birthday parties, picnics, etc without having to endure the scorching sun that we are all too familiar with lately. Well, we heard you and we are taking action. Phase I of a park renovation plan is currently underway, we are currently converting the non-regulation sized basketball court into a covered pavilion. Please pardon the mess for a couple weeks while we finish this phase, which we hope to have completed by the end of August. And please make every effort to steer clear of the construction area.

Phase 2 of the renovations will begin soon and this is where resident input would be greatly appreciated. What amenities do you want to see in the park? Some amenities currently under consideration are:
• adding lights and a sprinkler system
• grass and landscaping and a few more trees
• adding a baseball backstop and/or soccer nets
• adding another basketball court (regulation size)
• adding a cover over the playscape
• Evaluation and repair of the existing playscape
• Replacement of border around playscape
• extending the walkway
• lamp post and benches

These are just some of the many ideas that are being tossed around and now we would love to hear from you. Tell us what you would like to see changed at our park. Please keep in mind that what is not on the table is a swimming pool. After numerous studies into construction costs and maintenance, we just simply can not afford one unless we significantly raise dues, possibly even doubling them. Springbrook residents have made it very clear that they do not want to see an increase in the dues. Hopefully one day we can afford one, but it is not currently in discussions.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to email the board at board@springbrookhoa.com or office at office@springbrookhoa.com with your suggestions. We want to hear from you....
